French football's top flight has crowned champions since 1932, and its history splits neatly into two eras: a long spell where the title moved freely between the country's great clubs, and the recent age of Paris Saint-Germain dominance. This page ranks every Ligue 1 champion by number of titles.
PSG now lead the all-time list with 14, having pulled clear during the Qatari-ownership era. Saint-Étienne's 10 titles, most from a golden 1960s and 70s, keep them second, just ahead of Marseille. Note that Marseille were stripped of the 1992-93 title amid a match-fixing scandal, so it does not count toward their total.
