Who is Fiorentina's greatest player?
The two icons are Giancarlo Antognoni — the one-club number 10 with a record 429 appearances — and Gabriel Batistuta, 'Batigol', who scored 207 goals and famously stayed after the 1993 relegation to fire the club back into Serie A.

How hard is the Fiorentina quiz?
It scales from easy to hard — from well-known facts about the purple shirts and Batistuta to testing deep cuts on specific seasons, scorers and finals.
About the Fiorentina quiz

Fiorentina were founded in 1926 from the merger of two Florentine clubs, and by 1929 they wore the purple that made them La Viola — legend says the original red-and-white kit came out purple after a botched wash. This free Fiorentina quiz covers the whole story: the Giglio of Florence on the crest, the Curva Fiesole in full voice, and the Stadio Artemio Franchi with its concrete Marathon Tower, designed by Pier Luigi Nervi in the 1930s. If you know your Viola, this is your test.

The trophies came in two bursts: a first Scudetto in 1955-56, with the Brazilian winger Julinho flying, and a second in 1968-69 with the young 'Ye-Ye' side. In between and after came the icons. Giancarlo Antognoni wore the 10 for his entire prime and made a club-record 429 appearances; Kurt Hamrin — 'Uccellino' — scored 150 Serie A goals; and Gabriel Batistuta struck 207 goals in nine years, staying loyally in Serie B after the 1993 relegation and firing the club straight back up. The 1990 sale of Roberto Baggio to Juventus sparked riots in the streets — the rivalry with Turin has burned ever since.

Expect questions on the legends, the two titles, the transfers and the Derby dell'Appennino with Bologna. You'll be asked why the shirts are purple, who holds the appearance record, and what Batistuta did when the club went down. Difficulty climbs from easy openers about Florence and the colours to genuinely hard deep cuts about specific seasons, scorers and finals.

Every question comes with a short explained answer, so even a miss teaches you the detail that makes it stick. Play the sample set below free in your browser, no sign-up needed. The full Fiorentina quiz — plus daily challenges, leaderboards and multiplayer — is in the Ball IQ app.
