About the Sevilla quiz

Sevilla FC were founded in 1890, one of the oldest clubs in Spain, and play in red and white at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. This free Sevilla quiz covers the whole story: the fervent Nervión atmosphere, a golden age of European cup football, and a recruitment model that became the envy of the continent. If you know your Sevilla, this is your test.

Sevilla made the UEFA Cup and Europa League their own. They won back-to-back UEFA Cups in 2006 and 2007, then an astonishing three in a row in 2014, 2015 and 2016 under Unai Emery, and lifted the trophy again in 2020 and 2023 — no club has a stronger history in the competition. Behind much of it was the sporting director Monchi, famed for buying and selling brilliantly, and stars like Frédéric Kanouté, Ivan Rakitić and the one-club local hero Jesús Navas. Diego Maradona even spent a season at the club in the early 1990s.

Expect questions on the European nights, the Sánchez-Pizjuán, the managers and the Seville derby against Real Betis. You'll be asked in which years Sevilla won three straight Europa Leagues, who masterminded their transfer model, and which competition they made their own. Difficulty climbs from easy openers about the city and the colours to genuinely hard deep cuts about specific finals, scorers and seasons.

Every question comes with a short explained answer, so even a miss teaches you the detail that makes it stick. Play the sample set below free in your browser, no sign-up needed. The full Sevilla quiz — plus daily challenges, leaderboards and multiplayer — is in the Ball IQ app.
