Roma quiz — FAQ

How many trophies have Roma won?
Three Serie A titles (1941-42, 1982-83 and 2000-01), nine Coppe Italia, the 1960-61 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, and the 2021-22 UEFA Conference League — their first UEFA European trophy, won under Jose Mourinho against Feyenoord in Tirana.
Who is Roma's greatest player?
Francesco Totti, by common consent. A one-club legend, he made a club-record 786 appearances and scored 307 goals across 25 seasons, and holds the record for the most Serie A goals scored for a single club. Daniele De Rossi, second on the all-time appearance list, is the other great modern Giallorosso.
Is the Roma quiz free to play?
Yes — the sample questions are free in your browser with no sign-up, and the full Roma question bank is in the Ball IQ app along with daily challenges, leaderboards and multiplayer.
How hard is the Roma quiz?
It runs from easy (in which season did Totti win the Scudetto with Roma?) to hard (specific finals, scorelines and squad deep cuts). The difficulty is mixed, so casual fans and obsessives both get a real test.
About the Roma quiz

AS Roma were born in 1927, when the Fascist official Italo Foschi merged three of the capital's clubs — Roman, Alba-Audace and Fortitudo — into one side to take on the powers of the north. They played their early years at the Campo Testaccio, a cramped wooden ground in a working-class quarter where the club's fierce identity was forged, before settling into the vast Stadio Olimpico they share with Lazio. This free Roma quiz covers the whole story: the giallorosso shirt, the she-wolf on the crest, the ultras of the Curva Sud, and a fanbase that treats the club less as a team than a calling. If you call them the Giallorossi — or I Lupi, the Wolves — this quiz is for you.

The defining moments are told in scudetti and heartbreak. Roma's first title came in 1941-42; the second, in 1982-83, was sealed in Genoa on 8 May 1983 and remains the great romantic championship, the side of Falcao, Bruno Conti and Agostino Di Bartolomei. A year later they reached the 1984 European Cup final in their own Stadio Olimpico, only to lose to Liverpool on penalties — the cruellest night in the club's history. Redemption of a kind came in 2000-01, when Fabio Capello's team, powered by Gabriel Batistuta's goals, pipped Juventus by two points and beat Parma 3-1 on the final day. Then, on a delirious 2018 night, Roma overturned a 4-1 deficit to beat Barcelona 3-0 — Dzeko, De Rossi, a Manolas header — and reach a first Champions League semi-final.

Expect questions on the transfers, from Batistuta's record-breaking arrival in 2000 to Paulo Dybala joining on a free from Juventus in 2022; on the managers, Nils Liedholm, Capello, Luciano Spalletti, Jose Mourinho and, as of the 2025-26 season, Gian Piero Gasperini; and on the iconic games, from the 2001 title decider to the 2022 Conference League final in Tirana, where Mourinho's side beat Feyenoord 1-0 for Roma's first major European trophy in over 60 years. There are records too — Francesco Totti's untouchable numbers, Daniele De Rossi's loyalty, the club's nine Coppe Italia. Difficulty climbs from easy openers about famous captains and Scudetto years to genuinely hard deep cuts on scorelines, squad players and forgotten cup runs, so casual tifosi and lifelong obsessives both get a proper test.

Every question comes with a short explained answer, so even the ones you miss leave you with the detail that makes it stick — why 1983 still means so much, or how Roma qualified for the Champions League in May 2026 for the first time in seven years by winning at Hellas Verona. That is the Ball IQ way: the quiz teaches as it tests. Play the sample set below free in your browser, no sign-up needed.
