About the Feyenoord quiz

Feyenoord were founded in Rotterdam in 1908 and have played at Stadion Feijenoord — known to everyone simply as De Kuip, 'the tub' — since 1937. This free Feyenoord quiz covers the whole story of the club: the red-and-white halved shirt, the black shorts, and a working-class identity summed up by the motto Rotterdam and the club share, 'Geen woorden maar daden' — no words but deeds. If you know your Feyenoord, this is your test.

The club's greatest night came in 1970, when Feyenoord became the first Dutch club to win the European Cup, beating Celtic 2-1 after extra time at the San Siro with Ove Kindvall's late goal, under the Austrian coach Ernst Happel. Later that year they added the Intercontinental Cup against Estudiantes. Feyenoord went on to win the UEFA Cup in 1974, beating Tottenham Hotspur, and again in 2002 against Borussia Dortmund, and Johan Cruyff finished his playing career in Rotterdam by winning the 1984 league-and-cup double.

Expect questions on De Klassieker with Ajax, the Rotterdam derby with Sparta, the European nights, the managers and the club legends fans still sing about. You'll be asked who scored the 1970 winner, what De Kuip's nickname means, and which competition Feyenoord lifted in both 1974 and 2002. Difficulty climbs from easy openers about the founding and the colours to genuinely hard deep cuts about specific finals, scorers and seasons.

Every question comes with a short explained answer, so even a miss teaches you the detail that makes it stick. Play the sample set below free in your browser, no sign-up needed. The full Feyenoord quiz — plus daily challenges, leaderboards and multiplayer — is in the Ball IQ app.
