About the Leeds United quiz

Leeds United were formed in 1919 to take the place of the disbanded Leeds City, and have played at Elland Road ever since. This free Leeds quiz covers the whole story: the white shirts, the fierce Elland Road atmosphere, the great Don Revie side, and a modern revival that captured neutrals' hearts. If you know your Leeds, this is your test.

Don Revie built the defining team. Leeds won the First Division in 1969 and 1974, lifted the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1968 and 1971, and were driven by Billy Bremner in midfield and Jack Charlton — a 1966 World Cup winner with England — at the back. Leeds were also the last champions of the old First Division, winning the title in 1991-92 under Howard Wilkinson just before the Premier League began. After a long absence, Marcelo Bielsa's thrilling side won promotion back to the top flight in 2020.

Expect questions on the Revie era, the Fairs Cup nights, the club legends, and the rivalry with Manchester United. You'll be asked which disbanded club Leeds replaced in 1919, who holds the appearance record, and which manager led the 2020 promotion. Difficulty climbs from easy openers about Elland Road to genuinely hard deep cuts about specific titles, scorers and seasons.

Every question comes with a short explained answer, so even a miss teaches you the detail that makes it stick. Play the sample set below free in your browser, no sign-up needed. The full Leeds United quiz — plus daily challenges, leaderboards and multiplayer — is in the Ball IQ app.
