He was knighted by King Charles III in 2025, becoming Sir David Beckham.

About the David Beckham quiz

David Beckham is the boy from Leytonstone who became football's first true global brand — a right foot so precise it rewrote what a dead-ball specialist could be, wrapped inside one of the most photographed lives the game has known. This free Beckham quiz runs the whole arc: the Manchester United academy graduate who lobbed Neil Sullivan from the halfway line on the opening day of 1996, the treble-winner of 1999, the £25m Galáctico Real Madrid prised from Old Trafford in 2003, the man who took Major League Soccer seriously at LA Galaxy, the two winter loans back to AC Milan, and the Ligue 1 farewell with Paris Saint-Germain in 2013. He remains the only Englishman to win league titles in four different countries — England, Spain, the United States and France. If you can name the club he joined on loan from LA Galaxy, this quiz is for you.

The defining moments arrive thick and fast. There is the crown-of-thorns villainy of Saint-Étienne in 1998, sent off for a petulant flick at Diego Simeone as ten-man England went out to Argentina — and the redemption two years in the making, that swerving injury-time free-kick against Greece at Old Trafford in October 2001 that dragged England to the 2002 World Cup single-handedly. He captained his country 59 times across two World Cups and Euro 2004, finishing with 115 caps and 17 goals, most of them curled in from distance. At United he won six Premier League titles and the 1999 Champions League; at Madrid he lifted La Liga in his final season under Fabio Capello, having started it frozen out of the side.

Expect the full spread. The quiz covers the transfers and fees, the trophies across four leagues, the managers who shaped him — Ferguson, Capello, Ancelotti — and the iconic moments that made him a household name. Questions climb from the gentle (which club did he spend his entire youth and early senior career at?) to the genuinely tricky (which lower-league side did he go to on loan from United in 1995, or which two Milan winters interrupted his LA Galaxy spell?). Whether you lived through the 1998 backlash and the 2002 catharsis or you know him first as the co-owner who brought Lionel Messi to Inter Miami, there is a rung here to test you.

Every question comes with a short explained answer, so you learn the story behind the fact — the context, the date, the why. Play the sample set below free in your browser, no sign-up. If you want the deep game, the full Ball IQ app has 4,000+ questions plus daily challenges and multiplayer to test yourself against friends.
